Abstract
822,130. Thermal switches. ARROW ELECTRIC SWITCHES Ltd. Dec. 23, 1957 [Jan. 4, 1957], No. 39832/57. Class 38 (5). The operating bi-metallic strip 16 of a switch as disclosed in Specification 557,543 is compensated for ambient temperature variations by being pivoted at 82 and coupled by a bar 85 to an identical bi-metallic strip 80 pivoted at 84 in the bottom of the casing. Screw 87 holds one end of strip 80 such that a change in ambient temperature produces an angular movement about pivot 84 which is communicated to the main strip 16. Screw 87 also provides a fine adjustment of the current at which the switch operates.
