Abstract

[Class 80 (iii)] Mechanism for rocking a transmitting member 8 about its pivot between predetermined positions upon repeated movements of a lever 1 comprises a pawl 4 pivoted on the lever 1 and having an extension 5 and a shallow V- groove 6, the extension 5 being adapted to engage alternately the surfaces 11 of a pair of notches 10 in the member 8. Thus on depression of lever 1 against a spring 3, extension 5 of the pawl 4 engages a cam surface 11 and the pawl tilts and turns member 8. On release of lever 1 the V- groove 6 of the pawl 4 engages a stop 7 to return the pawl to its initial position. Further depression of lever 1 thus turns member 8 in the opposite direction. The stop 7 may be replaced by a flat blade spring engaging a flat base of the pawl.
