Abstract
635,035. Locking levers. ELLIOT, J. M. Jan. 5, 1948, No. 306. [Class 80 (iii)] A locking device for automatically retaining a lever when moved to a set position and which is released on a further movement of the lever in the same direction comprises a pivoted catch 1 with a hook end 2 adapted to engage a pin 3 on the lever 4 to retain it after movement in an anti-clockwise direction as shown. On a further small movement in the same direction the pin 3 passes over the nose 9 of a small plate 7 pivoted on the catch 1 which moves against its spring 6 to allow this. On return clockwise movement of the lever the plate 7 pivots on the catch 1 to hold it clear of the pin 3 to allow free movement of the lever. The device is stated to be applicable to the hand clutch mechanism described in Specification 626,078.
