Abstract
582,308. Locking levers. HUNTER, G. Sept 15, 1944, No. 17669. [Class 80 (iii)] The plates 19, Figs. 4, 6, carrying the wedging rollers 17 of the hand-brake lever 12 are pivotally mounted at 22 on a slotted plate 23, the upper end of which is hinged by passing through the hollow of a U-piece 25 secured to the lever 12, Fig. 3, and biassed at its lower end 27 by a spring 24 carried by the lever 12, so as to urge the rollers 17 into the wedging position. At its lower end 27 the plate 23 is engaged by the cranked end 28 of a releasing lever 29, pivoted at 13 and provided with a handle 30, Fig. 1, whereby pressure may be applied to plate 23 to release the rollers 17 from their wedging position so as to allow movement of the lever 12.
