764,940. Hooks. BLATCHFORD, W. C. (Coffing Hoist Co.). Feb. 10, 1955, No. 3997/55. Class 89 (2). A hook comprises. a shank 10, for mounting in a swivel, and a body 12 having its opening closed by a lever 15 pivoted at 14 and provided with shoulders 17 engageable by the arms 23 of a latch 18 pivoted at 19 and urged by spring 20 to contact the edges of the lever. The lever and latch straddle the body, and when the lever is raised, after releasing the latch manually, it is held in open position by the latch engaging the cam surfaces 24.
