798,247. Hooks. UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION. Sept. 6, 1956 [Oct. 11, 1955], No. 27374/56. Class 89(2) A load-hook 2 has a shank 6 with a bracket 16 mounted thereon, the bracket supporting, by a pivot 22, a mousing- piece 20 and, by a pivot 28, a lock-member 26. The counterweight-part 34 of the lockmember urges both members 26 and piece 20 to the positions shown, in which the mousing-piece closes the hook. To open the hook, member 26 is pivoted clockwise and then piece 20 is raised until its upper-surface 32 engages surface 30 of the lockmember.
