Class 89(2) A hook for suspending a weight 5 on the end of a measurimg - tape 8 comprises a shank 3 swivelled on a U-shaped-part 9 pivoted by a pin 10 to the tape and having a block 4 movable-axially on the shank. The block, in its lower position, closes the hook-opening, and may be urged to this position by a spring 6. In another arrangement, the block is screwed on the shank.
