[Also in Group XXX] A hook comprises a body formed by a closed loop of metal to provide an eye A for engagement by a lifting bar, rope, &c., and a hoopportion A<SP>1</SP> from the centre of which a pin A<SP>2</SP> extends towards the eye. The pin is integral with the body and receives one or more bights of rope B which, when the device is raised, are frictionally secured against slipping.
