792,104. Hooks. MONARCH CONTROLLER CO., Ltd. May 25, 1956 [May 26, 1955], No. 15259/55. Class 89(2) A hook 10 is pivoted at 11 between sideplates 12 and held in the position shown by a latch 14, pivoted at 15, and operated by a lever 20 pivoted at 22. A counterweight 23 causes lever-arm 21 to press on the latch, and release is effected by pivoting the lever clockwise to engage latchpart 14<SP>3</SP>. The latch pivots anticlockwise and lifts the hook-rail 17 with part 14<SP>4</SP>, and the hook pivots clockwise under its own weight to release, e.g., a mooring or tow-rope. The lever may be pivoted by a wire &c. engaging a slot 24, and pulled from a remote position.
