Abstract
1466477 Stepping switches SEGA ENTERPRISES KK 9 May 1974 [18 June 1973] 20648/74 Heading H1N and H1L A resettable ratchet drive device suitable for a selector switch has a drive shaft 6 coupled to a ratchet wheel 10 which is rotatable by a pawl 25 pivotally mounted at 24 on a drive lever 22 biased by a spring 48 and pivoted on a pivot pin 21 on a base 1 and coupled to a plunger 33 of a drive electromagnet 29. Each time the electromagnet 29 is de-energized the pawl 25 moves the wheel 10 by one tooth against the bias of a torsion spring 15 and backward movement is prevented by a claw 41 on a reset lever 40 pivoted on a pin 20 on the base 1. The lever 40 is attached to the plunger 50 of a reset electromagnet 49 which when energized moves the lever 40 so that the claw 41 disengages the wheel 10 and an arm 44 of the lever 40 also lifts the pawl 25 at the same time as it passes over the end 43 of a holding lever 23 pivoted on pin 21 and biased by a spring 39. In this condition both the pawl 25 and claw 41 are retained away from the wheel 10 after the electromagnet 49 is de-energized so that the spring restores the wheel 10 to a position in which its projection 52 engages an adjustable stop 53. When the electromagnet 29 is next energized the lever 22 moves the lever 23 which disengages the arm 44 so that the claw 41 is permitted to engage the wheel 10.
