Abstract
1,238,743. Positive clutches. KOMBINAT ZENTRONIK VEB. 3 Sept., 1969, No. 43560/69. Heading F2C. In a single- or multiple-revolution pawl clutch comprising a shaft 1 carrying a plate 6 having a pawl 8 pivoted thereon to engage in detent notches 3 in a disc 2 freely mounted on the shaft, the pawl dog 9 is held away from the disc 2 until it coincides with a notch by means of a second pawl 13 pivoted at 12 on the pawl 8 and having its dog 14 urged against the disc 2 by a tension spring 15 between the plate 6 and pawl 13. The pawl 13 has a nose 11 abutting a pin 10 on the pawl 8. When the foot 14 engages a notch 3, it pivots nose 11 away from pin 10 to allow pawl 8 to pivot and move dog 9 into the notch 3. Each notch has an angled approach surface 4. A projection 16 on the pawl 8 is connected to known control means (not shown) which release or lock the pawl 8.
