Abstract

601,171. Valve amplifying and limiting circuits. PARKER, E., and BUCKINGHAM, J. June 30, 1945, No. 16700. [Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi)] In a video amplifier and limiter, the signal is fed to the grid of valve V1 coupled to valve V2 only by the cathode resistor R1, the output signal appearing across the anode load R2. The gain may be varied by altering the setting of potentiometer R1 which controls the degree of negative feed-back. The output is linearly related to the input until the grid of valve V2 is driven beyond cut-off, the output then remaining constant with increase in input signal.
