Abstract

497,060. Valve amplifying circuits. BLUMLEIN, A. D. June 9, 1937, No. 15938. [Class 40 (v)] An amplifier, particularly for television signals includes an impedance common to the input and output circuit of a valve and producing negative feedback and of such a character that its value varies in dependance on the instantaneous value of current flow therethrough so as to vary the gain. The impedance may comprise a resistance shunted by a biassed diode rectifier, Fig. 1 (not shown). The Figure shows a resistance 2 shunted by a triode 11 the bias of which is adjusted to give the change in gain at the required signal level. A resistance 15 may be arranged in series with the triode 11 to prevent this valve exerting too great a shunting action. Specification 479,485 is referred to.
