Abstract

593,386. Automatic control systems. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and BAKER, W. S. GRAFF-. May 30,1945, No. 13530. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv)] Electromotive force.-In a series valve voltage stabilizer, the series valve has a screen electrode connected to a tap of variable potential on a resistor shunting the valve so that stabilization is effected over a wide range of output voltages. The Figure shows an arrangement in which a portion of the load voltage obtained from potentiometer RC is amplified by valve V2, provided with gas discharge cathode voltage stabilizer G and applied to series valve V1 to stabilize the output voltage. The screen potential of V1 is controlled by R1 which is conjointly operated with output voltage setting potentiometer RC.
