Abstract
630,123. Valve circuits. SCOLES, G. J. and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. July 9, 1946, No. 10214/49. Divided out of 630,075. [Class 40 (vi)] In a gating circuit of the kind comprising a gating and a control valve which are cathode coupled together the gating valve being rendered operative and inoperative by signals applied to the grid of the control valve both valves have anode load resistors and their anodes are connected together by a further resistor so as to maintain the mean anode potential of the gating valve constant. The Figure shows a control valve V1 and a gating valve V2 coupled by cathode resistor R1 so that V1 is normally conducting and V2 cut-off. When a control signal is applied to terminal G valve V1 is cut-off, V2 conducts and signals at terminal I appear at the output O. The drop in the mean potential of the anode of V2 when it becomes conducting is prevented by feeding a voltage from the anode of V1 via resistor R4. The values of resistors R3 and R4 are adjusted to maintain the mean anode potential of V2 constant. Specification 621,752, [Group XL (b)], is referred to.
