Abstract

614,221. Valve gating circuits. SHAND, G. and METROPOLITAN VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. July 9, 1946, No. 20512. [Class 40 (vi)] In a gating circuit a control valve which is normally conducting applies cathode bias to render the gate valve inoperative. When gating signals are applied to the control valve the bias is removed from the gate valve and signals at its grid circuit are applied to the control valve via the cathode coupling resistor and appear in the anode circuit of the control valve. In the Figure, when negative control pulses are applied at G the control valve V<1> has its anode current reduced and the gating valve V2 is rendered conducting, signals at its input I appearing with the same polarity at the output O of the control valve.
