Abstract
646,581. Valve amplifying circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Oct. 22,1947, No. 28294. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1946. [Class 40 (vi)] In a D.C. amplifier in which the input is applied over a mechanically-operated switch in one position, a voltage derived from the output is fed back over a short time constant circuit to the amplifier when the switch is in the other position. A double-pole switch 4, 5 alternately connects the input 1, 2 to the grid circuit of valve 6 and the feed-back path comprising resistors 9, 10 and capacitor 11. The time constant of the feed-back path is made short compared with switching time, while the time constant of the combination 10, 11 is long. Preferably the ratio of the time during which the switch is connecting the input 1, 2 to the time when the feed-back path is completed, exceeds five. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a single pole switch is employed.
