738,409. Valve amplifier circuits; transistor amplifier circuits. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 21, 1954 [Feb. 3, 1953], No. 2978/53. Class 40 (6). An amplifier comprises a tuned input circuit 2 coupled through a series tuned circuit 3, 4 to the cathode of a valve or the emitter of a transistor the valve or transistor having a control or base electrode which is grounded and an output circuit 9, 10 connected to an output electrode, the input circuit and the impedance of the output circuit as reflected into the cathode or emitter forming the shunt arms of a band-pass filter, the series arm of which is the series tuned circuit. The valve 5 in the circuit shown may be replaced by a junction transistor and the output circuit 9, 10 may be a simple tuned circuit or a band-pass circuit.
