Abstract
589,321. Bearings. SILENT BLOC, Ltd., and TRIER, V. A. Feb. 21, 1945, No. 4398. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] A pivotal joint or bearing adapted to withstand appreciable end thrust comprises an outer sleeve D which houses an inner sleeve E through the intermediary of a rubber bushing F bonded or adhering under compression to the sleeves, such inner sleeve having a bore with a self-lubricating surface for the pin or spindle to be supported therein and also having end flanges G to engage against end flanges F<2> of the rubber bushing which in turn lie against the ends of the outer sleeve D. The inner sleeve E may be of a self lubricating moulded plastics material and is shown mounted in the outer housing sleeve D by two flanged rubber bushes F, F<1> inserted under compression at each end. According to the Provisional Specification the inner sleeve may be partly metal and partly of lubricant-impregnated plastics material.
