Abstract

554,879. Bearings. PHILLIPS & POWIS AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and MILES, F. G. April 20 1942, No. 5254. [Class 12 (i)] A cylindrical bearing for a shaft consists of two members 4, 7 with spherical engaging surfaces, the inner member 4 having flats 6 so that when it is set transverse to member 7 and rotated, as shown, it can be removed by axial movement. Member 4 may have a bush 5 which may be removable to fit various diameters of shafts. Member 4 may be moulded from a synthetic resin impregnated with graphite.
