Abstract

930,283. Bearings. KUGLER FONDERIE ET ROBINETTERIE S.A. Dec. 1, 1961 [Dec. 7, 1960], No. 43088/61. Class 12 (1). In a bearing assembly, a floating sleeve 9 is mounted between a sleeve 4 integral with a housing 1, and a shaft 3. The sleeve 9 is coated internally and externally by anti-friction material. In an embodiment, the anti-friction material 11, 12 is bronze having 10 to 35% of lead therein and the sleeve 9 is limited axially by a ring 5 abutting a shoulder 7 of the shaft 3, and a collar 6 retained by a plate 8, which is screwed on to an end of the shaft, sufficient clearance being provided to allow axial movement of the sleeve 9. Lubricant is supplied from a reservoir 2. In use, the sleeve 9 rotates in the same direction as the shaft and the velocity of the sleeve 9 is relative to both the shaft and the housing.
