Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance in the structure of a bearing that includes a bearing section that bears a ceramic rotating body through a floating metal, by providing a contact surface section between the rotating body and the metal with a material of a similar kind to the rotating body. CONSTITUTION:The rotating shaft 1 and turbine rotor 2 of a turbo-charger are monolithically made of ceramic, and the rotating shaft 1 can be rotated with it beared by the bearing section 6 mounted in a metal housing 5. The inner circumferential surface of a floating metal 13 fitted on the bearing section 6 is applied with a ceramic coating 13A of silicon carbide or the like. The metal 13 is restricted with respect to its longitudinal movement by a snap ring 7 fit in a ring groove in the bearing section 6. An oil is fed to the bearing section 6 through a lubricant feeding path 9 and an oil groove 10. Thus, as the coating 13 A having approximately the same hardness as the shaft 1 is applied on the metal 13, the abrasion of the metal 13 can be reduced.
