Abstract

1352029 Fluid bearings SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 4 May 1971 [8 May 1970] 12978/71 Heading F2A A fluid journal bearing has a housing 3 in which a radially resilient annular bearing bush 5 is mounted coaxially within an annular chamber 8 in the housing, there being at least three fluid supply ports 15 in the housing leading radially into the chamber at peripherally spaced locations. Limited axial movement of the bush in the chamber is allowed, but the bush is held against radial movement by at least three elongate elements 6 which engage the bush and are located in grooves 7 between adjacent fluid supply ports. The chamber in the housing is defined by a radial shoulder (9) (Fig. 1, not shown) of the housing and by an abutment surface of a closure member 4 screwed into the housing.
