Abstract

1,235,649. Rolling bearings. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 8 April, 1970 [11 April, 1969], No. 16673/70. Heading F2A. A rolling bearing is provided with a ring 8 separate from the outer race but having a portion with a conical outer surface to mate with the tapered outer race 1, and has an annular face 10 which abuts the face of each rolling element. The tapered inner race 2 has at its smaller diameter end an integral flange 6 which contacts the other end of the rolling elements. The inner race has a cylindrical extension 7 which is engaged by a seal which is received in the cylindrical bore of the ring 8. The rolling elements are either conical or cylindrical rollers and are spaced by a cage 4. The seal has a lip which is pressed against the inner race by a spring 13. The outer surface of the ring 8 is provided with a trapezoidal groove 14 in which is disposed a sealing ring 15 which effects sealing between the outer race and the bearing housing.
