Abstract

783,221. Resilient mountings. BOGE GES. Aug. 19, 1955 [Aug. 23, 1954], No. 23978/55. Class 108(3) An elastic bearing for guiding the sliding motion of a pin (not shown), comprises a hollow body 5 of rubber compressed, by axial elongation, between inner and outer tubes 2, 1, the bore of the tube 1, or the external surface of the tube 2, or both, being of non- circular cross-section and the tube 2 having a circular bore for the pin. As shown, the inner surface of the outer member 1 is of elliptical cross-section. The inner member 2 is in the form of a sleeve which is longitudinally slit at 6. Each slit is formed with a lubricant-retaining recess 8. The radial thickness of the body 5 before assembly of the bearing, varies in such a way, that after assembly, the axial elongation is equal over the entire cross-section of the joint.
