Abstract

364,310. Flexible unjointed hinges. TRIER, V. A., Andre Works, Victoria Gardens, Ladbroke Road, Notting Hill Gate, London. Dec. 17, 1930, No. 38026. Drawings to Specification. [Class 65 (ii).] Pivots comprising compressed rubber bushes are provided with metal-to-metal bearing surfaces which are so spaced apart as to come into contact only on undue deformation of the rubber bushing. The bearing surfaces may be plain or may be constituted by roller or ball bearings provided with the necessary clearances. Metal-to-metal shoulders may be provided to prevent relative axial movement. The metalto-metal bearing surfaces may be situated between two axially separated compressed rubber bushes and in such cases lubricant applied to the bearings is retained by the rubber bushes.
