590,537. Spring shackles. ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd., RACKHAM, G. J., and STOCK, C. S. R. April 12, 1945, No. 9162. [Class 108 (iii)] A spring shackle flexible bearing particularly for heavy vehicles, has a bush c, of resilient rubber in the form of a half round bearing disposed outside the spring eye a, the rubber being vulcanised or otherwise suitably bonded to inner and outer metal shells b, d, associated with the spring eye a and the shackle or frame e respectively. A pin g which passes freely through the spring eye a and the remaining plate f prevents the spring falling away from the chassis. Extensions o of the pin g may be used as radiator supports. The bearing may be adapted for use in a connecting shackle as shown in Fig. 3.
