Abstract

231,622. Bradburn, W. H. Feb. 9, 1924. India-rubber and like springs for resiliently mounting a body on the chassis of a motor vehicle comprise a block a of india-rubber &c. seated between a pair of cupped bearers b<2>, b<3> and secured by an axial assembly bolt c, the bearers being of such form and size that they fit cap-wise on the ends of the block and leave a substantial clearance between their opposed edges, while the bolt c passes through a clearance hole a<1> in the block of substantially larger diameter than the bolt. The block is preferably spherical or has spheroidal ends. The plates b<6>, b<1> carrying the cupped bearers are secured to the body and chassis frames by bolts, the bolt c being preferably not used for this purpose.
