A motor car comprises a body portion 1, chassis portions 4 and 9 connected to the joints 2, 3 and sprung against the portion 1 by springs and so on 8, 12, and upper portions 13, 15 supported without abutment over the lower portions 4 and 9 respectively. This arrangement may be applied to an open car, and if desired the planes of division 14 between all the portions and the middle part 1 may extend horizontally.
