A twin-engined vehicle for fire fighting is provided with two engines 5, 6 which drive, respectively, a rear axle B, and a rear axle C or fire pump 10. The engine 5 may also drive the front axle A. A joint control 11a for the two engines together, and independent controls 11b, 12 and 11c, 12a for the engine 6 alone and for the pump 10 are provided.
