Laminar springs.-In a vehicle, a main spring 1, Fig. 1, is opposed by an auxiliary spring 5, and the springs are connected by devices 6 by which the tension of the auxiliary spring 5 and hence the camber of the main spring may be adjusted. The auxiliary spring 5 may be secured at its centre only to the main spring, the connection comprising a tensioning device by a bolt and nut. In either of these forms, the main spring may be of the cantilever type. In another arrangement, a quarter-elliptic spring 1, Fig. 5, is connected to a similar auxiliary spring 5 by a single tensioning device 6. As shown in Fig. 4, a cantilever auxiliary spring 5, having one end connected by a tensioning device 6 to the vehicle chassis at 3, is pivoted centrally at 2 to one end of a three-quarter elliptic spring 1 and at its other end to the vehicle axle 4.
