Abstract

621,355. Hinges. NEWTON, N. B., and STOCK, C. S. R. Feb. 21, 1947, No. 5087. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A resilient mounting bush comprises a rubber bush c interposed between inner and outer sleeves a, b, a third sleeve d journalled against one of the sleeves a. b, and means for lubricating the complementary journal surfaces, comprising a lubricant reservoir formed by a flexible seal g located at each end of the journal and consisting of an elastic diaphragm with its edges secured to the sleeve d and one of the sleeves a, b. The bush may be applied to the eye of an hydraulic piston type shock absorber, and in operation the dis-alignment of the mounting is provided by resilience of the bush c while turning movement is provided at the journal without torsionally stressing the bush c. In a modified construction. Fig. 1 (not shown), the seal g is secured between the outer sleeve a and the sleeve d.
