Abstract

679,651. Resilient mountings. SILENTBLOC, Ltd., and HUTTON, P. C. Dec. 29, 1950 [Nov. 16, 1949], No. 29296/49. Class 108(iii) In a flexible joint of the kind comprising one or more annular rubber bushings A disposed under axial compression between an inner rigid member B, and a frustoconical outer rigid member C, the outer end A<SP>0</SP> of each bushing A, when assembled on the inner member B (see Fig. 2), but before insertion in the outer member C, is not of greater external diameter than the outer end of the bore of the outer member and projects beyond the end-portion of the inner member B and is subsequently axially compressed by a pressure plate E secured to the member B so as to form a flange A<SP>7</SP>. The bushing A may be bonded to the member B. In the construction shown, however, it is merely stretched on to the member B, and is initially of the form shown in Fig. 1.
