815,324. Spring suspensions. MOULTON DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. May 20, 1957 [March 19, 1956], No. 8497/56. Class 108(2) In a vehicle independent wheel suspension a sliding element 1 on which a stub axle 3 is mounted has at its lower end a ball joint 6 connected to a wishbone or link 5, and at its upper end a balljoint 9 connected to a piston 8 or member sliding in a telescopic element 4 rigidly attached to the vehicle structure 2. Springing may be effected by steel coil springs 7 or by rubber springs or by fluid under pressure, or by combinations of these arrangements housed within the element 4.
