Abstract

793,772. Hydraulic shock-absorbers; rubber springs. MOULTON DEVELOPMENTS, Ltd. Jan. 7, 1955 [May 18, 1953], No. 13869/53. Class 108(3) A telescopic damper mounted between the sprung and unsprung parts 1, 2, of a vehicle, is combined with a pair of frustoconical rubber suspension springs 20, 21, surrounding and bearing upon, the cylinder 3 of the damper. The springs 20, 21 may be of the construction described in Specification 763,432, and are bonded to respective cup-shaped members 23, 30. The member 23 bears on the upper end of the cylinder 3, and is threaded to an abutment member 7<SP>1</SP> for the spring 21. The piston rod 6 of the damper, is resiliently secured to the member 30. The latter is threaded on an abutment member 7 for the spring 20, which also forms the connection for the suspension with the sprung part 1. The space between the springs 20, 21 is vented to atmosphere.
