Abstract
583,848. Heat-treating alloys. MOND NICKEL CO., Ltd., and PFEIL, L. B. April 8, 1943, No. 5681. Addition to 583,845. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] In the manufacture of articles or parts according to Claims 1 or 2 of the parent Specification, the alloy used has a composition such that it lies in the area defined by the curve A or preferably in the area defined by the parts B, C, D, E. The alloy preferably contains 16-20 per cent. of nickel, 10-14 of chromium, 2.5-2.7 of titanium, 0.4-0.6 of aluminium and the balance iron with or without minor constituents such as up to 0.2 of carbon, 1 of silicon, 1 of manganese, 4 of copper and 1 of cobalt and impurities such as sulphur and phosphorus. The alloys are generally made by introducing the titanium into the alloys in the form of a ferro-titanium containing aluminium. Specification 583,162 is referred to.
