Abstract
553,625. Alloys. CLIMAX MOLYBDENUM CO. April 21, 1942, No. 5356. Convention date, April 22, 1941. [Class 82 (i)] Iron alloys containing molybdenum are made by adding to a molten ferrous bath an intimate mixture of iron particles and crude molybdenum powder which may be partially reduced molybdenum trioxide. The mixture may contain 5-70 per cent. of iron and less than 0.25 per cent. of carbon, and may be in the form of highly compressed briquettes. The addition may be part of the furnace charge or may be made in a ladle.
