553,691. Alloys. LINZ, A. April 21, 1942,. No. 5357. Convention date, April 22, 1941. [Class 82 (i)] In making iron alloys containing tungsten the tungsten is introduced in the form of an intimate mixture of iron particles and crude tungsten powder or partially reduced tungsten trioxide. The mixture may be briquetted, and may contain 5-70 per cent., preferably 7-40 per cent. of iron. The mixture may be added to the furnace as part of the charge or may be added to molten metal in a ladle.
