Abstract

An alloy having improved mechanical characteristics has the following composition:-Al 6-14 per cent, Ni 10-35 per cent, Co 0-30 per cent, Cu 0-8 per cent, S 0.075-2.0 per cent, Fe being the balance. The sulphur may be introduced into a melt containing the other elements in the form of ferrous sulphide or elemental sulphur.
