Abstract

A steel alloy has the following composition: C 0.05-2.0 per cent, Cr 0.5-14.0 per cent, Si 0.5-4.5 per cent, Cu 0.5-6.0 per cent, Be 0.05-0.3 per cent, Fe, and the usual impurities, the remainder. The alloy may also contain one or more of the following constituents: Co up to 0.75 per cent, N up to 0.2 per cent, Al up to 2.0 per cent, Ag up to 0.5 per cent, Ni up to 3.0 per cent, Mn up to 2.25 per cent.
