Abstract
572,613. Knitting-machines. COTTON, Ltd., W., WILDERS, G., and WOODCOCK, H. E. Sept. 9, 1943, No. 14765. [Class 74 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A knitting-machine having a line of needles, sinkers, or knocking-over bits movable en masse, is provided with a cam 10 for producing the movements and having a nose 14 displaceable while the cam is rotating to vary the amplitude of its throw. A single cam may thus be used to effect different extents of movement of the knitting instruments. The adjustable nose is provided upon a slide and a projection 16 engageable with a ramp 17 formed at the end of a lever 18 controlled by a patterning device 15.
