Abstract
562,003. Fire-extinguishing. CHROBOK, P. Oct. 27, 1942, No. 15056. [Class 47 (ii)] In a fire extinguisher of the type comprising a container for a fire extinguishing powder, e.g. sand, and a container for a propellant pressure fluid such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen, the pressure fluid container 18 is separate but removably supported on the powder container 10 and the connecting tube 16 leads to an annular distributing tube 15 provided with tangential discharge nozzles 25, additional apertures 26 and downwardly extending tubes 20-23 of different length, the tube 20 extending to the bottom of the tapered container 10 near the spirally grooved discharge nozzle 24 which may be fitted with a discharge tube 28<1> and metal tube 28<2>, the whole arrangement effecting intimate mixture of the powder and fluid which issues from the nozzle as a spirally rotating jet.
