Abstract
447,936. Fire-extinguishers. NUSWIFT ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and LEECH, H. C., Protector Works, Elland, Yorkshire. Feb. 21, 1935, No. 5562. [Class 47 (ii)] In an extinguisher of the kind comprising an outer container for liquid and a sealed inner container for a propellant gas, the inner container or cartridge b has a neck b<1> which is sealed by a soldered lead disc and is externally screwthreaded. A perforated disc e has a boss e<1> which is screwed on to the neck b<1>, and it rests on projections or a flange a<1> formed on the reduced neck a<2> of the outer container a. The disc is held in place by the screwed cap f, which guides a piercer g operated by a hand-knob h or by a lever. The knob is protected by a cover i. The extinguisher may have a dip tube d, or may operate on inversion.
