525,349. Fire - extinguishers. MACKAHAN, R. E., CORCORAN, T. D., HARD, M. W., and SAFFELL, H. V. Feb. 18, 1939, No. 5476. Convention date, Nov. 15, 1938. [Class 47 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A fire - extinguisher or other device for discharging fluid under pressure, comprises a container 10 with a neck 13 closed by a cup-shaped cap 14 and a dip tube 15, extending to the bottom of the container and projecting laterally to provide a nozzle f which is protected by a cover 16 and is sealed by a diaphragm 17 soldered thereto and having an extended strip provided with a ring 19, whereby the diaphragm can be torn off to bring the extinguisher into use. In a modification, the diaphragm is integral with the cover 16. Specification 525,228 is referred to.
