Abstract

233,584. Caretta, E. Sept. 10, 1924. Portable pressure reservoirs.-In a fire-extinguisher having a head carrying the nozzle 4, and the compressed gas bulb 15 a spring-pressed valve 10 closes the passage, from the bulb 15 to the interior of the extinguisher. The valve may have a cork packing 12. The nozzle 4 of the extinguisher is closed by a cardboard or ebonite disc 17 or by a disc 22, Fig. 2, retained by a crown-piece 23 and sheared by the pressure of the extinguishing fluid on a disc 21. A bell 19 limits the height to which the extinguisher is filled. The collar of the bulb 15 is supported in a mouth 7 and the bulb is pierced by a hollow needle 8 when the cap 18 is screwed on the collar 6. The head 3 mav be made of a tin-lead alloy.
