Class 47(ii) [Also in Group XXVIII] In 'a fire-extinguisher in which liquid is expelled from a container 1 by gas from a cartridge 20, the cartridge is supported by a spring 19 in a chamber 8 which is screwed into the head 3 and has a hollow piercer 17 at its lower end communicating by bores 18. 11 with the container 1 and a bore 12 connecting a dip tube 15 with an outlet nozzle 6 in the head which is provided with an operating plunger 4, a sealing disc 10 being clamped between the chamber 8 and the head 3. The cartridge 20 is enclosed in a sheath 21 having a flange 22 which co-operates with a shoulder 16 to prevent insertion of the cartridge the wrong way up.
