Abstract
534,219. Fire extinguishing. FIRE-GARD CORPORATION. July 31, 1939, No. 22182. Convention date, Aug. 29, 1938. [Class 47 (ii)] The invention relates to apparatus of the type in which fluid such as carbon tetrachloride is carried in a sealed container which is inverted upon dislodgement of a seal by heat. A container 10, has a perforated top 11 closed by a metal sealing member 13 fixed by fusible solder 17. Attached to the bottom of the container is a base 18 slightly larger than the container. A wire bail 23 is bent inwards at 24 to'engage this base. The bail is made large enough to clear the sides of the container 10. A second bail 24 engages the first bail and also flanges 16 on the seal 13. When the solder 17 melts, the container 10 drops and pivots downwards on the bail 23 to discharge its contents through the perforated member 11.
