Abstract
371,728. Fire-estinguishers. SOC. ANON. ASSURO, 42, Rue de Paradis, Paris. Aug. 18, 1931, No. 23302. Convention date, Aug. 18, 1930. [Class 47 (ii).] An extinguisher 1 wherein the fusion of solder in case of fire allows a spring 12 to force a capsule 16 of compressed gas against a piercer 17, is closed at its upper end by a soldered closure la and is provided at its outlet end with a tube 8. The spring 12 operates against a slidable member 11 formed with a stem 10 which is secured to the tube 8 at its lower end by readily-fusible solder 13. The stem 10 passes through, and is soldered to, a disc 20 which is also soldered, at its periphery, to the outlet end of the vessel. The disc thus normally provides a hermetic seal for the vessel. When the solder 13 is fused by fire, the stem 10 disrupts the disc 20 and the capsule 16 is forced against the piercer. The liquid in the vessel 1 is then forced through apertures 9 in the tube 8 into the sprayer 3. As shown, the vessel 1 is enclosed in a casing 2 having at one end the sprayer 3 and at the other end a closing cap 4. A cap 6 of combustible material is mounted over the sprayer. The extinguishing liquid may be delivered by tubing to distant points, flame from such points being carried to the cap 6 by fuse cords.
