Abstract

426,037. Spouts for oil &c. tins. ASIATIC PETROLEUM CO., Ltd., St. Helen's Court, Great St. Helen's, London.-(Assignees of Re, M. M. ; 51, Rue Gay Lussac, Paris) Aug. 21, 1934, No. 24127. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1933. [Class 66] A telescopic pouring spout 5, Fig. 1, for oil &c., tins, is flanged outwardly at both ends and is urged outwardly from the neck outlet 1 by a coiled spring 6. The tube fits loosely in the neck, so that excess liquid can return to the vessel through the gap between them. The outlet 1 is closed by a screw or other cap 4, Fig. 3, over which a rupturable sealing ring may be applied. Packing is provided to afford a liquid-tight closure between the cap and the neck, and in the form shown this packing is pressed downwardly by a disc 8 engaged by a central protrusion 4a of the cap, the effect being that the cap when applied turns about this as a pivot but the packing remains stationary and in consequence does not become worn.
