Abstract

405,789. Capsules for bottles. ROBINSON, K. A., Lauriston Pines, Kingswood Court, Maidenhead, Berkshire. Jan. 10, 1933, No. 835. [Class 125 (iii).] A closure for a bottle &c. comprises a disc of paper &c. with a continuous depending flange 2 formed by doubling the paper on itself and enclosing a stiffening ring 5 and has a groove 3 which engages under thread on the bottle neck. The ring 5 may be of paper and the cap may be treated with soap solution, paraffin wax, paints, or liquid metals. In making the cap the paper is drawn over a die to form a continuous flange, the ring 5 is inserted and the flange is doubled thereon. Depressions or projections are then impressed on the flange, to suit the shape of the bottle neck.
